Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

These terms govern your use of chimney-cleaners.com and any chimney sweeping, inspection, or repair work booked through it. Submitting a form or accepting a quote means you accept what follows. Nothing here removes rights you hold under New Jersey consumer protection law.

1. Quotes and pricing

Prices shown on this website, including the ranges published on our cost guides, are typical ranges, not offers. A quote becomes firm only when we have seen the chimney or you have confirmed the specifics in writing, and it is valid for 30 days from issue.

If conditions on site differ materially from what was described, a second flue nobody mentioned, Stage 3 glazed creosote where a standard sweep was booked, an inaccessible roof, or a structure that is unsafe to climb, we stop, explain the difference, and give you a revised written price. Work continues only after you approve it. We do not add charges to an invoice that were never discussed on site.

2. Scheduling, access, and cancellations

Appointments are booked in arrival windows rather than exact times, because a job ahead of yours can turn out to need more work than expected. We contact you if the window slips.

You agree to provide safe access to the fireplace, appliance, and, where roof work is required, the exterior of the property, and to secure pets during the visit. Roof access is refused at the technician's discretion in ice, high wind, storm conditions, or where the roof structure is unsound; in those cases we reschedule at no charge.

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your window. A trip charge may apply for a same-day cancellation or a locked, empty property.

3. Scope of work and inspection findings

A sweep cleans; an inspection reports. An inspection documents the condition of the system at the time of the visit and does not warrant future performance. Concealed defects behind masonry, framing, or finished walls may not be detectable without a Level 3 inspection involving removal of building materials, which is quoted separately and requires your written consent.

We report what we find honestly, including when the answer is "this is fine, use it." We do not condemn a system to sell a reline.

4. Workmanship warranty

Repair and installation workmanship is warranted for 12 months from the date of service. Manufacturer warranties on installed products, caps, liners, dampers, sealants, run per the manufacturer's own terms, and we register them where registration is required.

The warranty does not cover damage from continued use of a system we advised against using, unrelated structural movement, storm or impact damage, work later altered by another contractor, or failure to carry out the maintenance interval stated in your report.

5. Payment

Payment is due on completion unless a written schedule was agreed for a larger masonry or relining project. Deposits on materials-heavy jobs are applied to the final invoice. Returned payments and balances beyond 30 days may incur reasonable late fees permitted by New Jersey law.

6. Nationwide partner network

Within New Jersey, work is carried out by our own certified crews. Requests from outside that area are matched to a vetted independent chimney contractor licensed in your state. In those cases the contract for the work is between you and that contractor, who carries their own insurance and issues their own invoice and warranty. Tell us if a partner falls short, we remove contractors from the network over unresolved complaints.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from work performed is limited to the amount paid for that work. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by negligence or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Website content and use

Guides, checklists, price ranges, and blog articles on this site are general educational information about chimney safety, not a substitute for an inspection of your specific chimney. Content and branding on the site are ours; you are welcome to quote short passages with a link, but not to republish pages wholesale.

You agree not to submit false information through our forms, scrape the site at volume, or use it to send unsolicited commercial messages.

9. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Before any formal dispute, email us, most issues are resolved with a return visit.
