Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Chimney Cleaners (chimney-cleaners.com) is a chimney service and service-matching company operating in New Jersey and, through partner crews, across the United States. This policy explains exactly what we collect when you request a quote, why we collect it, who it reaches, and how to get it removed. It is written in plain English rather than boilerplate because most of what we hold is simply the contact details you typed into a form.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a quote request, inspection booking, or checklist download, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), ZIP code, city and state, the service you are interested in, and any free-text notes you write about your chimney, fireplace, or appliance.

Consent record. If you tick the consent box on a form, we store the fact that you consented and the timestamp of that consent, so we can demonstrate permission to contact you.

Marketing attribution data. When you arrive from an ad or another website, our pages record the Google Click Identifier (gclid), UTM campaign parameters, the referring URL, and the first page you landed on. These are attached to your enquiry so we can tell which campaigns produce real bookings.

Technical data. Standard web-server and analytics data such as browser type, device type, approximate region, and pages viewed.

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we never ask for payment card numbers, bank details, or Social Security numbers through this website.

2. How we use it

The primary use is simple: to prepare and send your written quote and to schedule the appointment. Beyond that we use the data to confirm or reschedule visits, send the service report or inspection documentation, answer follow-up questions, and, where you have consented, send seasonal service reminders such as a pre-heating-season sweep prompt.

Aggregate, de-identified data is used to improve the website, understand which service pages answer homeowner questions, and measure advertising performance.

3. Who your information reaches

We do not sell personal information to data brokers or list resellers.

Your enquiry is shared with the technician or partner crew assigned to your address. For requests outside our direct New Jersey service area, that means a vetted local chimney contractor in your region who can actually attend the job, this is how nationwide coverage works, and it is what the consent checkbox on our forms refers to.

We also use service providers who process data strictly on our behalf: our form provider, our database and hosting provider, and our email delivery provider. They may not use your data for their own marketing.

We will disclose information where legally required, a subpoena, court order, or a genuine safety emergency, and in the event of a business sale or merger, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred data.

4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep your session working, remember form progress, and hold campaign parameters (such as gclid) for the length of your visit. Analytics and advertising cookies help us measure which pages and ads lead to booked work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The quote form will still work; the attribution data simply will not be recorded. We honour browser-level Global Privacy Control signals where they are sent.

5. Calls, texts, and email

By submitting a form with the consent box ticked, you agree that Chimney Cleaners and its local service partners may contact you by phone, SMS, or email about your request. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and consent is not a condition of purchase.

Reply STOP to any text to stop messages, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional messages about a job already booked (arrival windows, reports, invoices) may continue until the job is closed out.

6. How long we keep it

Quote requests that never convert are retained for 24 months so we can recognise a repeat enquiry and honour a previously quoted price. Records for completed work, including inspection reports, photos, and invoices, are retained for seven years, because insurers, home buyers, and municipal inspectors routinely ask for historical chimney documentation years after the visit.

7. Your rights and how to use them

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. New Jersey residents, and residents of states with comprehensive privacy statutes such as California and Colorado, additionally have the right to know the categories of data collected and shared and to opt out of targeted advertising.

Email quotes@chimney-cleaners.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We respond within 30 days. We will never charge you for a request or treat you differently for making one.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, lead data is stored in an access-controlled database, and the admin dashboard that displays enquiries is restricted to authenticated staff accounts. No system is perfect, so we keep the data set deliberately small, we do not store payment details or identity documents on this website.

9. Changes and contact

When this policy changes materially we update the date at the top of the page. For anything covered here, or to ask a question before you submit a form, email quotes@chimney-cleaners.com.
